reviews:

"electronics spark, then overheat, then pose nonchalantly as breakbeat hammer horror, gradually working up a head of steam before venting a severe anger. abstract yet rhythmic, noisy yet tuneful, listeners find themselves being drawn to melancholy dignity before losing their head to an audio blitzkrieg in this very fine showcase of switch trips and sonic booms. 4/5." - update magazine, 06.04

"just when you’re getting settled down for a nice hypnotic trip, an anxious sense of urgency sets in with j auer’s 'across the horizon' and cheju’s 'glow worms', the latter invoking a particularly clinical air of tension... one point one collects together a well chosen selection of tracks showcasing a range of breakbeat enhanced ambience and introduces some new talent, all of which will be worth looking out for in the future on the strength of their showing here." - igloo magazine, 07.04

"the first compilation to emerge from the rednetic stable sees the label collect together some fine examples of binary beauty." - dj magazine, 07.04

"this is one of the best selections of experimental breakbeat and electronica to have crossed these ears for a while, with the secret to its success being the subtle marriage of the adventurous with the accessible. 4/5." - idj magazine, 07.04

"fledgling label rednetic, however, specialises in combining the head-scrambling trippiness and emotive melodies that the best of electronica offers with elements of breakbeat, dub and drum & bass" - knowledge magazine, 08.04

"here we have 11 tracks that are experimental in their combination of sounds - clicky robotic broken beats and percussions and warm melodies and rhythms, but the results are mostly excellent ranging from mellow downtemponess from ochre and 'valley forge' and the autechre sounding 'clear blue sky' by zainetica probably the best track on here and 'glow worms' by cheju, to tougher dancefloor tracks like 'across the horizon' by j.auer and 'empathogen' by utility player and if you can get past the first minute of reversed, reverbing metallic intro to 'verzoen' by sidechain you're rewarded with a funky breakbeat number. things do get a bit scary towards the end with f.e.a.r. getting very dark and menacing with the ambient rumblings of 'vacume' and aphex twin style menace of 'distraction' by scorn fury but the rewards from this album are well worth your time and effort. an album well worth seeking out. " - untitledmusic, 10.04

"a compilation from the london based record label rednetic that has been releasing some of the best electronica and experimental stuff in the city since 2002. 'onepointone' compiles the work of a new generation of creative artists committed to producing quality electronica with one foot in the 90’s digital sound and the other in the 00’s ... apart from his collaboration with rednetic, cheju also runs his own boltfish label where he produces experimental electronica. in 'glow worms', cheju builds a beautiful tapestry of analog monophonic sequences combined with breakbeats along the happy mood and style of higher intelligence agency ... 'onepointone' has been presented as 'a journey into experimental breakbeat electronica and other genre shifting breeds', and that is exactly what it is considering that breakbeats is the main feature of the album, despite the successful blend of different styles that it holds. i can say that rednetic is one of the most interesting labels in the uk, which is biding for some of the most brilliant and risky electronica that has been produced lately in the country. they are following the tradition of a generation of artists and producers that made electronic music a rich genre in the uk during the 90’s. we wish them a restless and productive time for the next half of the decade." - intuitive music, 12.04

"rednetic is a london-based label that has only put out a few releases so far but, in my opinion, is destined for much bigger things. head-honcho zainetica has released an album of material plus numerous other bits and bobs for n5md's mp3 label and other such netlabels and here he has selected a beautiful range of electronica sounds from artists both known and unknown for this wonderfully packaged compilation. as well as two tracks from himself he gives us cuts from toytronic's ochre, scorn, j. auer, f.e.a.r, cheju and more. i don't want to get caught up in trap of calling it idm, but it really does lean that way and with the highest possible quality. fans of expanding, toytronic and clickclickdrone will want to check this out as soon as possible. recommended." - smallfish, 07.05

"as one of the next up-and-coming contenders to labels such as toytronic, skam and n5md, rednetic have a point to make; deliver high-quality electronic productions wrapped in excellent packaging and wait for the results. in this case rednetic have more than surpassed expectation; 'one point one' sports a gatefold sleeve with hints of the designers republic graphical implementation and music that spans through the finest in the field of emotional electronics ... cheju triggers a plone aesthetic with his magnetic frequency ranging ... just the combination of uplift and downdrafts, rednetic's 'one point one' makes pleasant fodder for your cd player." - e|i magazine, 06.05
